XA Discipleship Model

"We reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship and mission to transform the university, the marketplace, and the world."

Discipleship Modeling Tool Therefore our goal is to create a self-sustaining engine of discipleship that enables us to reach the nations. This is our biblical conviction. And if we truly want to see this on campus... to actually train and send many students to the nations... we must focus our efforts on what is most fruitful.

The Discipleship Modeling Tool below doesn't tell us how  to do ministry. It is a numerical way of assessing the effectiveness  of our ministry practice (2 Tim 2:2), which is held in the light of the great commission (Matt 28:19) and of the great vision of nations worshipping at Jesus' throne (Rev 7:9). This tool helps us to measure what is effective in our ministry. It points us toward fruitful, mission-aligned practice.

NOTES

1. Definitions

Replication (%):  From small group leaders starting the year (staff + students), how many student leaders does each produce for next year? Example: 10 total leaders this year, raising 5 new student leaders = 50% replication or 0.5 produced per leader.

Longevity (%):  From small group leaders starting the year (students), how many continue to lead next year? Example: 10 student leaders this year, 2 continue next year = 20% longevity, or 0.2 per leader.

Replication and Longevity have predictive value, because a larger team of small group leaders (when effective in finding students) will result in a larger ministry:

Replication and Longevity

2. On Longevity

How does the longevity of a student leader (as a percentage) relate to the number of years that an average student leader serves?

Longevity vs years served
